It all began in 2016 at Humboldt University in Berlin. In a course titled “Successfully Planning Your Own Future,” Amelie presented her idea: to open a beauty studio with a difference. Not a traditional nail salon, but a modern beauty destination—inspired by the beauty bar concepts from England and the U.S.

The vision was clear, the location had already been found — only someone for marketing and communications was still missing. Theresa was in the class and spontaneously said, “I’ll do it. I’m in.”
And so began the story of Glowy Beauty Bar.

In 2016, we opened our first studio together in Berlin-Mitte. Back then, we learned as we went. With a lot of passion, creativity, and the desire to create a place where people feel comfortable.

​By the time we opened our studio in Prenzlauer Berg, Amelie’s sister Tami was fully on board as well. Today, we run the Glowy Beauty Bars together and continue to develop Glowy: with new studios, creative beauty concepts, and a strong focus on events and our mobile Beauty Bar.

What began as a chance encounter quickly became more than just a professional relationship: a close friendship, a Glowy family. Our goal remains the same: to create a place where you can take a little time out for yourself, Me Time, Feel Glowy, Feel Good.
